The Worlds Fastest Production Super Cars

Over the years we have been blessed with some truly astonishing fast cars. From the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO to the present day might of the Bugatti veyron, these super fast cars have been the envy of many and the true dream of some. These days super cars are blindingly quick with super cool cars such as the Koeinigsegg CCR and the Bugatti Veyron covering over a football pitch per second when flat out at full speed. These super fast cars will remain a pin up on the wall for most of us, unless you own an oil rig or won the lotto. If you are lucky enough to afford one of these awesome machines, or would just like to keep dreaming then we have composed a guide to some of the world's fastest production cars below.

McLaren F1:
Released in 1994 the McLaren F1 was the daddy of all super cars for over 10 years. It was the fastest road legal production car of all time before finally being knocked off the top spot by the Koeinigsegg CCR. The McLaren F1 is still regarded by many to still be the best super car of all time. Although over 15 years old the McLaren F1 still packs one hell of a punch with it's 6.1 L (6064 cc) V12 engine kicking out 627 horse power. The car has a central driving position making it feel more F1 like. And with an acceleration speed of 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 241 mph this is no slug.

Koeinigsegg CCR:
Then we have the Koeinigsegg CCS designed and manufactured in Angelholm, Sweden, 2004 this awesome looking machine holds the belt for knocking the McLaren F1 of its top spot. The Koeinigsegg CCS has a 6 speed manual transmission with an rpm of 6790. The engine is a 4.7 L ford modular V8 which drinks juice faster than an Arabian desert. The Koeinigsegg CCS has a top speed of 242 mph and does 0-60 in 3.2 seconds.

Enzo Ferrari:
Named after the big man of Ferrari himself expectations were high when this beast was announced in 2003. And I'm pleased to say that it has lived up to them. With its F1-style sequential shift transmission and carbon fiber body this car too has F1 credentials. The enzo has a 6.0L V12 engine which churns out 651 horsepower and does 0-60 in 3.6 seconds with a high rpm rate of 7800 gives it a top speed of 218 mph.

Bugatti Veyron:
The Bugatti veyron is a monster of a vehicle, costing around $12.000.000 to produce the first one! The Bugatti has an incredible 6 radiators, that's more than your average house! The Bugatti smashed the record for the world's fastest production car in October 2005 reaching 253 mph! 0-60 in 2.43 seconds. The engine is a massive 8.0L quad turbo-charged W16.

SSC Ultimate Aero TT:
Manufactured by Shelby super cars the Ultimate Aero TT is the current fastest production car in the world, beating the mighty veyron by 2.5 mph. With an incredible 254 mph as the top speed this will take some beating. The Ultimate aero TT has 1,183 bhp and accelerates from 0-60 in 2.78 seconds. no doubt that this is an awesome American masterpiece!

So there you have it 5 of the worlds fastest production cars. Some people though have gone to the extremes of tuning up their Skyline or Supra or other up gradable sports cars into 1000 bop monsters, but you can find information on fast import cars on the web. Their is a lot more dream machines that I have not mentioned such as the Lamborghini Diablo, the Zonda F and the Porsche 911 GT3.

2007 Bristol Fighter T

Those looking for a car that boasts great power and speed need to look no further than the 2007 Bristol Fighter T. This car takes a bit of what you love from the Dodge Viper and the Bugatti Veyron and kicks it up a notch for a speedy ride that is hard to believe. In fact, while you probably used to think that the Bugatti Veyron was the fastest car in the world, the Bristol Fighter T has actually taken that distinction for it's own. This car is coming from a vehicle manufacturer that has more than twenty-five years of experience in turbo charging, which they first showed with the Bristol Beaufighter back in 1980. Whether you enjoy having a high performance car for driving around the city or you are looking for a car to perform well on the track, Bristol believes that you will be more than happy with their new 2007 Fighter T.

Speed Taken to Extremes

More than likely, if you are taking a look at the 2007 Bristol Fighter T you want more than just a fast car. This car is one that takes speed to extremes and will outperform your wildest dreams. Although the car can actually get to a speed of more than 270 mph, they do come with a limit of 225 mph, which is probably sufficient for what you need. The Fighter T is definitely no slouch in the speed category, since it can go from 0-60 in a mere 3.5 seconds. If you love a feeling of power that sets you back in your seat, then the Fighter T will not be a disappointment.

The Specs

The great speed that this car is capable of is actually produced by a special version of the Dodge Viper 8.0L V10 engine, which is intercooler and is also twin turbo charged as well. This means that at 5600 rpm, you have 1012 bhp giving you that amazing performance power. Another reason that this car can provide extreme speed is because of its' light weight design as well. The car weighs in at only 3515 pounds, due to the use of aluminum and carbon-fiber doors in the design. Bristol designed the Fighter T in such a way that there is actually no need for splitters or spoilers to keep this car stable and on the road at high speeds, and the rear diffuser provides a great 0.27 drag factor. Along with this powerful engine, it also has a 6-speed manual transmission, which allows you to get to 60mph in only first gear.

Elegant Exterior and Interior

Not only is this car an amazing performance car, but it also boasts an elegant exterior as well. The car is hand built and designed with bold, smooth lines that will definitely catch your eye. Just by looking at the car you would never realize that the vehicle is made with both carbon fiber and aluminum.

On the interior of the car, you will find that it has racing style seats and only will seat two people; however, the room inside is definitely sufficient for comfortably holding two people and any luggage they may need to take along as well. The interior features both leather and wood, along with a very light weight steering wheel and controls made of aluminum too. While you may have thought that such a muscle car would be lacking in luxury, the 2007 Bristol Fighter T actually combines the excellent performance with a luxurious interior as well, which is not an easily accomplished feat.

When it comes to power and speed, the 2007 Bristol Fighter T has everything you can dream of. It combines British ingenuity with American heart to provide a muscle car now named fastest in the world. Just to give you a picture of the power this car has, it is actually five times as powerful as the WWI biplanes. This car definitely meets the challenge of the Bugatti Veyron, and will provide you with the ride of your life. In fact, at only $654,000, this car is less than half the price tag of the Bugatti Veyron. This car will be first released in September of 2007, so start getting ready for the sports car release of the decade!
