The list is long and distinguishes, Ferrari 149, Ferrari 330, Ferrari 288 GTO, Ferrari 308 GTs, and the Ferrari 149, Ferrari 330, Ferrari 288 GTO, Ferrari 308 GTs, Hamann Ferrari 430 Spyder and the Ferrari Testarossa to mention just a few.

To the present date, what young male adult hasn't dreamed of one day owning a Ferrari? What would be even greater would be to race one of the modified ones in the Grand Prix.

Enzo Ferrari had the distinction of having two birthdays, something special for a youngster growing to brag about to all his friends. His real birthday was February 18, 1898. Because of bad weather, however, his father was unable to register his birth until two days later. Therefore his official birthday is February 20, 1898.

Enzo's father was the owner of a metal shop His greatest desire was to have a son who was an engineer. Enzo's father who had metal shops also was the first person in the area who owned an automobile. Possibly that is why young Enzo Ferrari was more interested in cars and racing rather than engineering. He finish his studies, however, becoming an instructor in Modena, his home town But his passion always remained with racing cars.

When he was 10 he attending his first race with his father. The "Targa Bologna" on Sept 7, 1908, with that "the die was cast". From then on all he dreamed of was becoming the greatest racing car driver and wining the Le Mans or Grand Prix.

He had to temporarily put his dreams on hold when WWI begins. As at 16, the only driving he did was on the back of a mule. It didn't deter him as his thoughts and dreams were still centered on the big car races.

By the time WWI ended. he had made many friends including those in the racing community as well as the auto industry. All those who came in touch with him recognized his talents and encouraged him. Finally in 1929 , at the age of 31, he founded the Scuderia Ferrari in Modena its main purpose being organizing racing for members He continued at that time to work at Alfa Romeo and racing their cars in local races. He enjoyed the excitement of racing and being in his beloved cars. Eventually he left Alfa Romeo as his group Scuderiua became better known. Alfa Romeo still continued to send him cars.

He personally continued to race until the birth of his son known as Dino in 1932. However when his son died in 1956, he wore sun glasses almost every day to honor him.

Along with his racing cars he also produced sports cars as they were an important part of his racing career. By that time automobile manufacturers raced cars to sell their cars. In the case of Enzo Ferrari, however, he sold cars to finance his racing. Most saved and sold their wining cars Enzo was not sentimental about his cars and had them destroyed for parts.

Bad luck seemed to follow him through his racing career. He lost drivers to bad health and death and lost cars to bad judgment. He made the mistake of using a new experimental Pirelli Tires at the Spanish Grand Prix. This lost him the chance of a World Championship, something he desired.,

Although, through the years he had many victorious drivers and races, he never seemed to achieve totally what he desired. Must was expected of his 1982 team but bad luck struck again with the death of his star driver, the maiming of his team mate and the early retirement of its last World Champion. At this point Ferrari had no front line drivers and none on the horizon and years would go by before it could count on another top driver of its own

He did not live to see this achieved. in 1988, Ferrari died at the age of 90. Had he fulfilled his dream as far as racing is concerned? Whether he did accomplish this or not , is not important. What he did accomplish is to create a Ferrari sports automobile and racing car that that is the dream of many.
